One19 Wine Bar + Food

The newly opened One19 Wine Bar + Food focuses on Italian wines and Italian-inspired small plates. The approachable, affordable wine destination (no bottles are over $70) encourages exploration of lesser known grapes like Albana, Schiava or Traminette – no Chardonnay or Merlot here – and most of the wines are organic or sustainable. The wine-on-tap program offers a more environmentally-friendly way to enjoy wines by the glass or flight. Their “Freshest Flight in the City” features 4 wines on tap. Chef Matt Rojas offers wine-friendly plates including pepperoni French bread pizza; rosemary preserved tuna; bruschetta with ricotta and truffle honey; fresh burrata with smoked cherry tomatoes; grilled radicchio with gorgonzola; and a shareable cheese and meat plate. The wine bar is located speakeasy-style behind a storefront at 119 Essex Street. Guests enter the store (currently a deli) and head to the back through the curtain to find the 28-seat bar room.
