The LES Clothing Co. is Making The Move to Shopify

logoFounded in 1999, the LES Clothing Company has had a very transitional year and a half. Back in early 2013 founder Robert Lopez decided it was time to make the leap from just retail to more of a wholesaling operation. Part of the strategy was to close their retail location on Clinton Street, but not before taking in a partner who could finance their expansion. Coincidentally, through an act of fate, Lopez met entrepreneur Bobby Weiss, owner of the media company that publishes LowerEastSide.com, and together they struck a deal whereby Mr. Weiss would buy into the company and fund its expansion.

In a recent interview with Lopez he commented that, “Things are going very well for us now. We’re getting our products into more and more retail stores and the orders are rolling in. We can’t even meet current demand for our new Loyalty T-shirt and cap line. Thanks to an additional extra cash infusion this past week from Bobby Weiss, we were able to place a large order to fill the gap.” Lopez went on to say that he just recently made the online transition to Shopify to strengthen our Internet presence for the out-of-town orders which have been growing as of late. The Shopify online store still does not have the full product line uploaded for public viewing and purchase but Lopez is actively working on rectifying that.

LES Clothing Co. gear is becoming mainstream with the Hip Hop crowd. They recently got a nice mention with a baseball hat photo on the “Gotta Have It” page in XXL MAG which is the equivalent of the Rolling Stones Magazine of the Hip Hop world. (See page 30 of the August/September issue.) Stay tuned and look for all of their products, old and new.
