Bank Robbery on Delancey Street

Police are searching for a man who robbed two banks on Saturday, including the Popular Community Bank at 134 Delancey Street. The suspect walked into the bank at about 11:45am and passed a note to a teller that read, “This is a bank robbery – give me $7,000.00 from your top draw. I have a gun.”  Investigators say the man did the same thing about a half hour later at a Capital One location on 34th Street. He made off with about $2,800 in total from both crimes. The suspect is described as  black, approximately 5′ 8″ and weighing around 165 lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray hat, black jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black shoes and black sunglasses.
