Michaeli Bakery

Michaeli Bakery is an Israeli style bakery from Adir Michaeli serving burekas, rugelach, babka, challah and more. Growing up in Israel, Adir’s Friday midday was filled noshing on a box of pastries and savory items from the local bakery while dinner was cooking. Since he was young, Adir quickly realized his energetic personality wasn’t fit for a desk job. He became fascinated with the hands-on techniques needed for baking and decided to pursue it as a career. It started with a stage where he was mentored by celebrated pastry chef Roni Fredy Mordechai, learning the ins and outs of baking. At Tel Aviv’s famed Lehamim Bakery, he led the pastry department, establishing and running the main production facility, which turned into the core of the business. He moved to New York to lead the opening team of Bread’s Bakery in 2013. Always striving for perfection, Adir made it a personal challenge to tweak old recipes and experiment with new methods to make the best of the best. This led to an active search for premium ingredients, constantly adapting to change and meeting volume demands. For Adir, satisfaction comes from creating a taste that keeps customers pleasured and returning again and again.
