Established in 2015 in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Elizabeth Houston Gallery showcases a carefully selected group of talented contemporary artists who explore a wide range of issues and topics within a variety of media. Based on an inter-media approach, these diverse artists are linked by a commitment to technical mastery and conceptual depth. Though the focus lies largely within the realm of contemporary art, the gallery also maintains a revolving inventory of vintage prints by prominent 20th-century photographers. By curating these vintage pieces along with newer works, the gallery aims to re-contextualize these modern master photographers within a contemporary context. The gallery has met success with collectors and critics alike and has been reviewed in The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, The Village Voice, and The New York Times, among others. Elizabeth Houston Gallery has participated in numerous art fairs such as AIPAD, PULSE New York, VOLTA, and PHOTO LA. An active participant in the art world for over a decade prior to her work with Elizabeth Houston Gallery, Elizabeth also owned and directed the contemporary art gallery Hous Projects in downtown Manhattan in 2007. Elizabeth has participated as a juror for various portfolio reviews and exhibitions, including at the International Center of Photography, Review Santa Fe, Photo Lucida, Fotofest, Critical Mass, and Women in Photography.
